Areas of Need

In 2018, Impact1890 commissioned a needs assessment, which was completed by Holleran Community Engagement Research & Consulting. The purpose of the needs assessment is to make sure that grants are awarded to address the areas of greatest need.

While many opportunities exist to improve the lives of older adults in our region, six key themes arose from the needs assessment including:

• Social Isolation 
• Transportation 
• Navigating/Accessing Health Care and Social Services 
• Chronic Disease Management 
• Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia/Memory Loss
• Housing

Many of these issues are multi-faceted and interconnected. Impact1890’s approach to grant making allows for a multi-pronged approach considering all aspects of these issues where applicable.
